15 ChatGPT prompts that save small business owners hours every week
Copy-paste prompts for customer replies, follow-ups, marketing, SOPs, payment reminders and review replies, plus a simple formula for writing your own.
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can save a small business owner hours every week, if you ask the right way. The trick is simple: tell it who you are, what you want, and what the answer should look like.
Here are 15 ready-to-use prompts for everyday business work. Copy them, replace the parts in [brackets], and edit the answer before you use it.
The formula behind every good prompt
"You are a [role]. My business is [what you do, where, for whom]. Write [what] for [who]. Keep it [length / tone / language]. Include [must-haves]."
The more real detail you give (prices, city, customer type), the less generic the answer.

Keep it safe
- Don't paste customer phone numbers, Aadhaar/PAN, bank details or passwords into a public AI tool.
- Always check facts, prices and anything legal or tax-related before sending.
- Edit the tone so it sounds like you.
When prompts aren't enough
Prompts help you work faster. But if you're copy-pasting the same replies 50 times a day, the next step is letting AI do it automatically: an AI chatbot on WhatsApp that answers customers 24×7, or an automation that sends reminders and reports on its own. See 10 tasks you can hand over to AI.
