How much does a business website cost in India in 2026?
What you actually pay for in a website (domain, hosting, design, care), fair prices for each budget, and the hidden costs to ask about before you pay.
"Website banwane ka kitna lagega?" Ask five people and you'll hear five answers, from "₹3,000 on Instagram" to "₹3 lakh from an agency". Both can be true, because they are not the same thing.
Here is an honest breakdown of what you actually pay for, what a fair price looks like in 2026, and the hidden costs that catch business owners out.
The 5 costs of a business website
Every website, cheap or expensive, has the same parts. When you compare quotes, check which ones are included.
- Domain name: your address, like yourbusiness.in. About ₹500–₹1,200 a year for a .in or .com, more for premium names. (See our guide to buying a domain name in India.)
- Hosting: the server your site lives on. From free (for simple sites on modern platforms) to a few thousand rupees a year.
- SSL certificate: the padlock. It should be free and automatic today. If someone charges you yearly for a basic SSL certificate, ask why.
- Design and build: the one-time work. This is where prices vary the most.
- Care and updates: changing prices, adding photos, fixing things when a plugin breaks, renewing the domain on time. The cost most people forget.
What different budgets really get you
Under ₹5,000: templates and DIY builders
- A ready template with your text and photos, or a site you build yourself on a website builder.
- Good for: testing an idea, a simple online visiting card.
- Watch out for: slow loading, the same look as thousands of other sites, no SEO setup, and monthly builder fees that add up over the years.
₹15,000–₹50,000: a professional small-business website
- A custom design for your brand, 5–10 pages, mobile-first, fast, with SEO basics, WhatsApp and enquiry buttons, Google Maps and analytics.
- Good for: most clinics, shops, coaching centres, consultants, restaurants and service businesses.
- This is where most small businesses should be.
₹50,000–₹2,00,000+: advanced sites and online stores
- Online store with payments and inventory, booking systems, multiple languages, customer logins, integrations with your CRM or billing software.
- Good for: D2C brands, multi-location businesses, anything with real online sales.
What a good website must include in 2026
Whatever you pay, don't accept a site without these:
- Mobile-first design. Most of your visitors come from phones.
- Speed. It should load in about 2–3 seconds on mobile data. Test any site, including your current one, with our free Website Speed & SEO Checker.
- SEO basics: proper page titles, descriptions, headings, a sitemap, and a Google Business Profile link.
- Clear contact options: a WhatsApp button, a click-to-call number and a simple form.
- Privacy policy and terms, especially if you collect enquiries or take payments (India's DPDP Act applies to small businesses too, see our DPDP checklist).
- HTTPS everywhere and a free, auto-renewing certificate.
- You own the domain. It must be registered in your name, with your email. This is the most common trap.
Hidden costs to ask about before you pay
- Who owns the domain and hosting account? If the developer disappears, can you still access it?
- Renewal prices. A "free domain for the first year" can renew at 3× the price.
- Paid plugins and themes that need yearly licences.
- Content. Are text and photos included, or do you have to provide them?
- Changes after launch. Are small edits free for a month? What do they cost after that?
- Speed and security updates. Who fixes the site when it breaks?
What Aimerger charges
Our Business Website starts at ₹24,999 (one-time) for up to 8 pages, mobile-ready, fast, with SEO basics and WhatsApp and enquiry buttons. Most sites go live in 1–3 weeks. The domain is extra (about ₹1,000 a year), registered in your name.
The care plan is ₹999/month and optional. It covers hosting, SSL, backups and small text and image updates, so you never have to chase a developer.
You can see every service and price in our price menu (PDF).
